Morning reflection

{So} Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

This verse is often quoted quickly or gliby, but let’s take a step back. Stop. Pause. Breathe. Let the words reverberate. Hear them. Repeat them. Listen. Hear the voice of the Spirit.

Read the verse two or three times. What word or words catches your attention? What comforts you? What challenges you?

Trust, lean, surrender, acknowledge. I breathe it in. He knows. He knows.

Palms down, I let go of anxiety, of fear, of worry. Breathe in His peace.

Palms up, I receive, His grace, His strength, His direction. He knows the path ahead. Breathe out stress. The need to know.

I lean with gratitude into His arms, He knows the way. He knows.

I sit quiet. Wrapped in His presence.

Trust. I trust you – my Saviour, my Lord, My God.

What speaks to you today, my friend?

Might we choose to let this day be hemmed in by this – let these words start and end our day:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6
