I've Been Thinking / Spirituality

Fresh breezes…

I am sitting here at the kitchen table, writing. When I turn my head to the left I look out of the sliding glass doors to Spring’s celebration.

View from my kitchen…

It has been so cold, and so bleak. Dull, dreary and rainy. Ugh.

Yet, today the glory of nature is in full regalia. The breeze blows in through the doors, and it’s lovely, refreshing, with just the right amount of warmth hinting at things to come.

I couldn’t help but think of the breath of the Spirit… blowing breezes of refreshment, warmth to our often weary souls, and hope for the days ahead.

This day: The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.
Day to day pours out speech,
and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech, nor are there words,
    whose voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out through all the earth,
and their words to the end of the world.
Psalm 19: 1-4

Genesis 1:1 -2, speaks of Creation… and of the “Spirit of God… hovering over the waters, (2b)” “the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, (2a).” From that deep darkness and chaos, the Spirit brought life, colour, and beauty.

Today, let the Spirit of the Living God blow sweet breezes over you, my friend.

May He bring life, hope and beauty amid any darkness or chaos.

May you know His peace, and may “He lead you beside still waters and restore your soul.” Psalm 23: 3
