Honest prayers

“… there’s healing in just being honest. This is where I am Lord. Please meet me here.” Sharon Garlough Brown – Two Steps Forward: a Story of Persevering in Hope.

This reverberated through me tonight, “This is where I am Lord. Please meet me here.” It’s one of those times when I am feeling low and weepy. And I wonder, what’s wrong with me? Do you ever feel that way too? As if some days it is too much?

So, here’s my prayer for tonight, might you join me:

Hear my cry, O God,
    listen to my prayer;
 from the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I,
 for you have been my refuge,
    a strong tower against the enemy.
Let me dwell in your tent forever!
    Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! Selah
Psalm 61: 1 – 4 (ESV)

He hears our cries and tenderly, sweetly meets us, right where we are.
