How to start your day
I don’t know about you, but sometimes as the day begins, there is a sense of unease. What will the day hold?
The concerns I had the day before – the things caused me to worry, they are still there.
So, I love this verse, this Psalm.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
Psalm 143:8
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.
It is a blanket that I can wrap around myself – tuck in the comfort, gather the solace. Bask in the encouragement. In His unfailing love.
Unfailing. Love.
I put my trust in Him, because He, in His unfailing love, He has promised to show me the way. I can breathe deep of the grace He gives me. Grace for this moment, grace for the next.
His mercies – new every morning.
Whether peaceful and quiet, or whether the sirens are screaming – we need Jesus. He alone is our strength and sustainer.
I can entrust my life to Him, because He is enough for me. Even if I can’t see it, or feel it, even if I am overwhelmed by life and its circumstances, it is, truth. Never yet has He failed me, never yet left me alone. And it impossible for Him to do so for He cannot lie and His promises are sure.
Great is His faithfulness.
So today, if the storms of life are blowing, batten down the hatches. Hold on to His unfailing love.
For He loves you and, He holds you, and He will never let you go.
