Hope

I love the expectancy in this verse. This quiet growing confidence that His love is the safest place for me to rest. That He knows the end from the beginning and everything in between.

That I can be secure in His Sovereignty – entrusting my life, my circumstances, and those that I love to Him. This is no trouble free guarantee. Jesus said, “in this world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world.” When our world gets flipped, turned upside down – good cheer feels hard to come by, some days it may feel impossible. Even simple everyday concerns may mock us. Yet, we have this strong encouragement – in the midst of the chaos, in the midst of the mundane – nothing, absolutely nothing can separate us from His love or from His presence.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present, nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

So, here we anchor our hope, strong and sure. In Him. In His indefatigable, unending, unconquerable love.

We lift our heartaches, our sighs, our worries. We open our hands in trust and wonder. And, He, our Shepherd lifts us up, and carries us in His Everlasting Arms.
