Spring’s Whisper – “Hope lives”
I love the incandescent light coming in the window, as the sun trickles golden through greenery of the blooming trees. Spring’s whisper – “hope lives” enchants us once again.
Because, there is magic in the spring. Every year the same thing – the winter, forbidding and cold, then comes spring – beckoning, inviting and warm. For that reason, I never weary of it and yet am inevitably surprised.
Spring’s whisper – “Hope lives,” speaks words once hushed with a vibrancy that had been lost to the chill of winter’s death.
Spring’s whisper – hope lives
Once again, the impossible seems possible – hope calling to dreams that seemed frozen beneath the arctic tundra.
Somehow, I wish we could hold on to this elusive wonder, this probability of better days throughout the year.
And yet, faith – it can keep hope alive year round. Even though faith can be slippery too, escaping from knowing and delving into doubt.
Here’s where that ancient prayer becomes a petition – “I believe, help my unbelief.” These words steady us, and we carry on.
Once again we listen, lean in – hope, it gives us an anchor, we put our hope in Him. In the One who knows the end from the beginning, and who holds us in the in-between.
Hold your head up
Therefore, we can walk with our heads held up high and revel in spring’s hope once again.
“Spring drew on…and a greenness grew over those brown beds, which, freshening daily, suggested the thought that Hope traversed them at night, and left each morning brighter traces of her steps.”
Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre
And finally, Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23.
